What was that from?
The only thing I really remember it from was a kids' book that a teacher
read to us when I was 10. The protagonist was coming back from a sporting
event (a Mets game at Shea?) when it went off. It also had the effect of
rendering all vehicles inert, at least temporarily. Except that one left
everyone in their underwear, at least. (It was, after all, a US kids'
book....)
