Since they're just supposed to find the mines and show
their handlers where they are, and can accomplish the
task more swifly and safely than humans could, it
doesn't seem too exploitative.

According to the link provided in the article, 'armed'
meant that the dolphins were in effect "suicide"
de-miners (and possibly anti-submarine as well?  the
info was very sketchy).
