A lawyer friend is "pretty sure" that it was stopped
here in Denver at least b/c of 'illegality.'  I know
that when they quit using the ph/r vans, people who
got ticketed  but hadn't yet paid were allowed to just
toss them out, but those who had paid couldn't get a
refund... (I did a quick Dogpile search, and didn't
find anything easily, so I quit looking.)

My only experience was that I crossed a
lane-and-a-half to avoid the "oncoming car!!!" I
interpreted to be barreling at me when that da***d
light flashed.  :P
