Dear Earth reader,

The Nu-chaa-nulth (a very wise First Nations group in Coastal BC) say that "all
things are inter-connected in our living world."
Unfortunately, our Modern (or Post-modern if you wish) world-view tends towards
10 second sound bites, fractured and abstracted, limiting our awareness of the
real inputs and outputs of consumer society.

The Sacramento Bee has put together an excellent "special project" that walks
the "internet surfer" through some of these inter-relations, demonstrating how
consumerism is spoiling the Earth. If you have children between the ages of 10
and 18 then you might wish to visit this web site with them as a family learning
experience.

Dr. Adrian Blunt (a world-classed educator) once explained to a friend of mine
(who explained it to me), "All these problems are 'adult education' issues --
there is no other way to change the world." So with that in mind, I strongly
endorse and recommend the Bee's project, entitled "A State of Denial."

Cheers!
