Sorry, but it's been bugging me. Some movies GROW on you after a so-so first impression. Many people have said that about Costner's THE POSTMAN, Other movies are enjoyable during... then gnaw away after with irritiation.

I had way fun during Matrix II -- who wouldn't? Wondrous visceral stuff. But afterward, lots of memories just grated.

Yeah, the plot. Yeah, the logic. (What logic? Kung fu logic!)

Yeah, the Matster Designer (I had no trouble at all understanding his blather. I just found it fatuous. Neo should have answered "How do YOU know you aren't being simulated inside a bigger program?")

Then there's certain WORDS they used.

The 'key-maker'.... the Keymaster? And the "Gatekeeper". I wondered. Where had heard those before?

I kept hearing them round and round. One voice, sultry, saying: "I am the Gatekeeper"...

Then a whiney one saying "I'm the Keymaster!"

Well, I suppose I can't complain when a movie like Matrix II, which is brilliantly made but utterly rife with cliches and borrowings, stoops to steal lines from one of the most original motion pictures any of us has ever seen.
