Actually, IIRC, the Webb telescope is not supposed to be launched until at least 2012, and we all know how likely launch dates are to be delayed. The main problem with keeping Hubble in service until after the Webb telescope is in place is that doing so would cost about $150 million each year.

A further point to consider is that, while Hubble is able to take pictures of distant objects inside our solar system, Webb will not be able to look at anything except objects beyond our solar system, as it will be unable to track moving objects like planets.
