You're very lucky you have a child to whom you can give that kind of choice and still trust he'll get all the various nutrients he needs. With a couple of my nephews (a few years older than Sammy), if you gave them the option of refusing anything that was offered, they'd refuse everything except pizza :-) Our general practice with them is to let them make choices, but only let them choose between various options that are all acceptable to us.
