Years ago I wrote a smalll piece with a violation of causality with
just FTL communication - if a ship with v1 < c can send a signal with
v2 > c _relative to the ship_, then this signal can travel back in time
provided <some function>(v1, v2) > c.


OTOH, there's no violation of causality if the Universe has an "absolute"
reference frame and you can travel FTL relative to this absolute
frame, but not relative to any other.
