Paragraphs in random order. (I think I stopped making as much sense as
usual sometime over the weekend, and I'm not likely to recover from that
until the babies are a few days old, at least.)

I went to the doctor this morning. I am not dilated as far as I'd hoped
to be.

I now weigh about 50 lbs. more than I did when I went in for the very
first prenatal exam, the one where they told me they were sure I was
pregnant (the blood test to absolutely confirm came back a day or two
later). I've never weighed this much in my life. I weigh more than my
husband did when I met him back in college.

The babies have been moving down in the past few days, anyway, which is
good in a way, but the center of gravity being lower and further forward
is just killing my back at times.

I'm scheduled to have labor induced early Friday morning if I don't go
into labor before then. Dan's brother is going to come down tomorrow to
help my mom, and if I haven't gone into labor before tomorrow evening, I
think we're going to go out for Tex-Mex in hopes that that might start
something. :) (Not the infamous Chuy's green sauce, though; Dan really
wants to go to Tres Amigos....)

Dan has a co-worker whose wife gave birth to a combined weight of 15 or
15 1/2 lbs. of twins. I may beat that. (I hope not, but given that the
combined weight 2 weeks ago was calculated around 13 lbs., and
theoretically they each gain half a pound a week, well, if it goes as
far as Friday, I could be on the track to beating it....)

One nice thing about my doc is that she has a sense of humor compatible
with my own in joking about the situation. :) Helps keep me from
feeling frustrated at my appointments when I'd be inclined towards
frustration.

I will be very glad when my belly has a lot less in it, and someone else
can hold babies for at least a little while. :)
