Because it's a sermon written by Jews to be used to improve Jews -
so it focus on listing the errors and sins, with the intention that they
will not be repeated. BTW, Jesus's speeches against the pharisees
[sp?] _are_ very similar to the pharisees' own speeches: they
criticized themselves all the time, so that they could improve.

Another example: suppose a historian of the XXXX Century wants
to study XX Century USA, and the only thing he has are cops movies.
He might think that they are anti-USA propaganda, because in those
movies the police system is shown as a very corrupt and evil thing.
