A robot-powered suit that helps people with disabilities walk and perform
other activities is about to be marketed in Japan.
The "robot suit" which is called HAL-3 (Hybrid Assisted Leg) contains a
backpack with a computer and batteries, in addition to four actuators that attach
to the knees and hip joints.
(article goes on to describe the developer- Yoshiyuki Sankai, the device's
ability to help with walking/stairs/sit to stand assist, speed up to 2.5 mph,
weight 37 pounds, companies hope to sell 100 of them per year for $8440 each)

Not sure how much motor control the wearer must have, etc
Just more neat stuff from technology,
Dee
