Why not try to curb that "gigantic U.S. demand" through moral exhortation?
Oh, right, because that would be infringing on Americans' freedom to be selfish
greedy filthy little scumbags. The only place conservatives believe in bossing
everyone else around is when it comes to sex, in which case, abstinence is
the solution to all life's problems. Everywhere else, conservatives think people
should be free to do whatever they want no matter how destructive it is.

Somebody got out of bed the wrong side this morning :)
