Yeah, right! http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/local/144779_weather21.html >So anyway, in the past 3 days, Seattle proper has gotten in excess of 8 inches of rain, 5.02 of which fell in a >24 hour period, from 2am yesterday. This utterly shattered the previous 24-hour record, set back in the >40's, of 3.41". So much rain has fallen that the city resivoirs, at a 40-year low and with water restrictions not >being announced only because we're about to hit monsoon season here, are now at 85% capacity and rising. That's a fair amount for a city that's not use to it. I remember when Duluth received 5" of rain overnight; it washed out one of the major streets. For here, that's just a decent rainstorm. The most I've seen at my house was 23" in three days, with about 8" overnight, and about 13" in one day. The most I've heard of was back before I moved here, where a small town just south of Houston got 48" in three days.
