So any info about streaming, anyplace I can look? Would I need a Linux box instead/also?
Check out these: http://dmoz.org/Computers/Multimedia/Music_and_Audio/Audio_Formats/MP3/Software/Streaming/
Icecast is open source, has Linux and Win2K, XP. Shoutcast is based on Winamp.
If you have a dynamically assigned IP address, you'll need to use something like DynDNS in order to be able to contact your server from elsewhere. And that will require a domain name, or some kind domain owner's willingness to give you a hostname.
