It took a week to roll just a few feet, it works for a few days, and
then <Glitch>.

Hopefully its a problem that can be fixed. Perhaps as a result of
those Australian thunderstorms that were screwing up communications.
But I think this shows yet another limitation to robotic missions.

Of course this doesn't refute the arguments against manned missions,
but it does show that the alternative is itself quite problematic.



Although if the human alternative was faced with something like the problem with the TV camera on Apollo 12: a problem which could have been quickly fixed with a screwdriver . . . which they hadn't brought along.
