Virginia's House of Delegates voted Monday to exempt the legislature from
the open meetings provision of the state's Freedom of Information Act.

House Republican leaders support the measure, which passed 52 to 48 after
a half-hour of floor debate. Twelve Republicans joined 36 of the 37 House
Democrats in voting against the bill, which now goes to the state Senate.
