With John Edwards set to drop out of the race tomorrow, it seems all-but assured that it will be Kerry vs. Bush on the general election ballot in November, and today I am breathing a huge sigh of relief that the Democrats did go ahead and nominate the serious candidate whom I considered most beatable.
Today someone in my office made a wisecrack about how a Kerry/McCain ticket could prove to be disastrous for the Republicans this November. I pointed out that McCain isn't a Democrat... but the idea intrigued me nonetheless.
Hypothetically, if McCain switched sides and joined the Dems, AND signed on for VP on a ticket with Kerry, do y'all think they'd have a chance? He'd be more appealing than Edwards....
Ha! Writing this out, it seems a little ridiculous. Sort of like the Superman vs. Batman speculative yet useless discussions I had as a kid. :) I'm still curious what everyone thinks tho.
