My cat was eating a lot of food this week, now suddenly he's eating none. He's otherwise acting normal; normal for a cat. I'm taking a wait and see attitude.

Don't wait too long. If he doesn't eat anything at all for a couple of days, you need to take him to the vet to see if there is anything wrong. It could be that he has the cat equivalent of a cold or something that has dulled his sense of smell, because a cat who can't smell the food is not likely to eat it, or it might be something more serious. In any case, if he goes more than a couple of days without eating anything at all, even though he may still look and act pretty much normally otherwise, he will get weak from not eating and what might have started as a relatively minor illness may get much worse.

FWIW, sometimes they will eat baby food if they don't want the regular food. You might try it.

I hope he will be eating again by now and that whatever caused him to stop is something minor. Give him a hug for me.
