Resolved: articles in the list guidelines are arbitrary, censorious, applied
capriciously, and irrelevant given the evolving nature of the list.

# Personal attacks, whether direct or indirect are not welcome. These should
be handled off list, and if you disagree with some controversial point,
direct the attack at the argument, not the person.

Rhetorical attacks on persons are commonplace. The list owners expect
personal attacks to be confined to the list. No list member will directly
e-mail second member to insult the second member about material the second
member has posted to the list. Directly contacting a list member to insult or
vilify said member can be construed as threatening.

Actual _per se_ threats, whether they are lodged via the list or by other
means, and whether against the list itself, its owners, participants or third
parties are illegal. In the event of a _per se_ material threat the list
owners will take appropriate action. This may include banning the one making
said threat from the list, taking appropriate civil action, or notifying
relevant authorities.
