First, let me clear that I consider the preceding article, which I posted,
to be suspicious. I find it highly unlikely that 99% of non-pledging
adolescents engage in premarital sex *and* 88% of pledgers.
Secondly, to again repeat the conclusions of the article:
-both pledgers and non-pledgers had similar rates of STD infection
-pledgers, however, were likely to delay the beginning of sexual activity
I consider the second goal to be a noble one, and very good for a child's
psychological health. Obviously, the first result is disappointing, but
should take nothing away from the second accomplishment.
As for the allegation that I have previously posted medical information
from dubious sources - I certainly have no recollection of that.

I am not aware that condoms were ever designed to protect against HPV or
genital crabs.
If you know of a model by which condoms would effectively prevent
transmission of these disease, then I may decide to take the effort to look
up these statistics. But honestly, I am quite shocked that you do not
already understand this.
I am doubly shocked that you would say that "posters in this thread have
listed at
least two ways to get an STD without having sex at all." One of those
two examples was getting AIDS via a blood transfusion. I would have
expected that you would have engaged in refuting such an example, as it
applies to the present, rather than repeating such an allegation.
