Criticism of the Sauds would have hampered the war in Iraq.  

In addition, it may have hampered cooperation from the Saudis in other areas.

By "increasing pressure on the House of Saud" are you support regime change
in Saudi Arabia?

I think that many people here have argued that we should be careful about
how much we undermine the House of Saud, as these people believe that
whatever regime replaces the House of Saud would only be worse.
