I'm going to address this point since it has now been raised by both you
and Dan, among others....

I'm not sure that "high-level" meetings are a particular important
component of the answer. As has been discussed here previously, this
charge is largely a result of Clarke's allegations - and he, of course,
has
personal reasons for making this charge. He enjoyed unprecedented
access
under Clinton, who was a noted micro-manager, and thus reasonably might
have been frustrated by a return to the usual chain-of-command under
Bush.

----
To show just how much of a priority Terrorism was to the Shrub Crowd,
Acting FBI Director Pickard testified under oath today that when he
wanted to continue briefing HimmlerCroft on Terrorism, that HimmlerCroft
told him after two such meetings not to brief him on terrorism anymore.
When everyone says the same thing, Paul O'Neal, DiIlio, Clarke, Tenet,
and Now Pickard, all people who worked closely with the Shrub
Administration, that the 'MayBerry Machiavellis' were essentially
incompetent and uninterested in terrorism before 9/11, there must be
something to it.

For your smear of Clarke to work you first have to discredit, Paul
O'Neal, DiIlio, Tenet, and Pickard.
