This was sent by a virus on somebody's machine on shawcable.net, which managed to send its ugly little message with a From header that the list server recognized.
Sadly, spoofed return addresses can fool the list server and there's not much to be done about it, short of things like SPF. Speaking of which, one way to help see that *your* address isn't spoofed is to get your e-mail provider to support SPF. See http://spf.pobox.com/
