Dear Friends,
Today marks my last day at McKinsey, and virtually my last day in New York.
The last two years have been exciting, interesting, and eventful - I have
learned more, seen more, and grown more, than I could have thought possible
in September of 2002. None of that would have been possible without all of
you - you have made the highs higher and made the lows bearable, and I
cannot thank all of you enough. Too many of you have been of far too much
assistance for to even begin to break out specific names, but I would be
remiss if I did not particularly thank Raj Garg, Ari Kellen, Rodney Zemmel,
Sumit Aggarwal, Somesh Khanna, Jay Rao, Angela Sun, Yannick Mathieu, and
all of my fellow BAs.

But all good things must, indeed, come to an end. I leave the BA program
for a world of new opportunities that I could not have imagined even a few
months ago. In the next few days I will begin work as founder of The Two
Rivers Group. In that role I hope to capitalize and build upon the skills
I acquired at McKinsey to bring some of the ideas and insights of the
academic world to bear upon the problems of governments, business, and
non-profits. I will be spending the summer working with clients in
Washington, DC, New York, Newport, RI, and Cambridge, MA. I will be based
out of Washington, DC, but I hope to see most of you during the summer as
well if and when we are in any of those areas.

In September I will return to Cambridge to begin a PhD in Political Science
focusing in International Relations, as part of MIT's Program on Emerging
Technologies (PoET). PoET seeks to understand the impact of technological
change on society and to better understand how different organizations can
manage and predict technological innovation. It seeks to combine insights
from the hard sciences, engineering, economics, political science, and
history, in a unique integrative program. I feel and hope that PoET is a
unique opportunity to combine a wide variety of my interests in research
that can be of use to the private, public, and non-profit sectors. If this
is something in which you have interest, or which might be able to help one
of your teams, please reach out to me - I would be happy to help. If any
of you come through Boston in the next few years, please drop me a line.

My contact information is somewhat in flux at the moment. This e-mail
address will expire at the end of the day. You can, however, always reach
