I have not read the paper. I found out about it and figured that I should share now, rather than waiting however long it might take for me to get the time to get through the paper. :)

That would indeed make it difficult to concentrate on mathematical reasoning of any sort, as having forgotten your functional analysis would be an impediment to reading that particular paper.
