...
I'm glad they got rid of the 5 day limit. However it makes me wonder how
many of the 5 day champs could have gone on to impressive winning streaks.
I remember a few others who went on to handily win the Tournament of
Champions. They could.
The lack of limit with a long streak brings heightened interest in some
viewers, and the ratings go up as a result.
I like higher ratings, but only because it means that the show stays
on the air. (Which probably isn't a problem anyway, considering how
long it's been on.)
To me, Jennings is like an idiot in front of me at a convenience
store buying lottery tickets. I find both annoying. But Jennings
helps keep the show on, and the lottery player helps keep the store
in business. (In NY, convenience stores make a fair amount of their
profit off of lottery sales.)
And personally, I think it's cooler that after 5 days, the contestant
gets to come back for a 6th, rather than just walk away with a car.
(Some of the cars they've had, I wouldn't want to own.)
Well, you could always sell the car. : )
Yeah, but if the end is in sight, won't you want to watch to see the
end? Or do you just want to quit watching, figuring it'll be all over
when he loses, and go back to it then?
As I said, that's not why I watch.
