Well, here goes for another year of NFL excitement. You will have to take
my word for it that I thought that Indianapolis would get revenge in New
England, and that the Titans would handle the falling-apart Dolphins.

Oakland at Pittsburgh - This is one of the most intriguing games of the
week to me, as two of the better offensive lines in the League face each
other. Still, the Raiders are in their first game with a new Head Coach,
and the Steelers appear to have better skill position players in Hines
Ward, Duce Staley, Plaxico Burress and Antwan Randle-El. Pick: STEELERS

Jacksonville at Buffalo - Jacksonville may well have the best pair of
defensive tackles in the League. Unfortunately, the rest of their roster
looks empty, and their lack of pass-rushing ends may not be able to take
advantage of Buffalo's weakness at the offensive tackle positions. Pick:
BILLS

Detroit at Chicago - Chicago has a new coach, and has traded their best
offensive player to Miami. This seems like as good a time as any for
Detroit to win its first road game in years. Pick: LIONS UPSET SPECIAL

Tampa Bay at Washington - Memo to DC - Joe Gibbs is not God. Pick: BUCS

Baltimore at Cleveland - Jamal Lewis ran for something like 500 yards in
two games vs. the Browns last year. The dirty little secret is that the
Browns were in those games. Pick: BROWNS

San Diego at Houston - Last year, I thought that the Panthers would be
better, but stuck in a too-tough division. This year, I want to think
that the Texans will be better, but the Colts, Titans, and Jaguars seem to
have the division stacked. We shall see.... until then, the only thing San
Diego is inexorably bound for is a Top 3 Draft Pick - and maybe Los
Angeles. Pick: TEXANS

Arizona at St. Louis - Its nearly impossible to see the injury-riddled
Cardinals winning this one. Pick: RAMS

Seattle at New Orleans - I think that this could be a great game, but I
have Seattle pegged as the slightly better team. Pick: SEAHAWKS

Cincinnati at New York Jets - We'll see how Carson Palmer does in the big
leagues. Until then, I'll pick against him. Pick: JETS

New York Giants at Philadelphia - Behind that offensive line, the Giants
may start five QB's this year. Pick: EAGLES

Atlanta at San Francisco - I'm worried about Vick not playing in the
pre-season, especially with a new system to learn. Pick: 49RS

Dallas at Minnesota - We'll see if Parcells can work his magic this year,
but I think that the Vikings will have too much firepower for Vinny
Testaverde in the Dome. Pick: VIKINGS

Kansas City at Denver - I have a sneaking suspicion that this could be a
very long year in Mile High. Pick: CHIEFS

Green Bay at Carolina - I'm very interested to see if the Brett Favre of
old returns, or if the chuck-and-duck Brett Favre we saw last year shows
up. Pick: PANTHERS
