The problem with my arguments, Bob, is that they imply that some Republicans haven't sold their soul to Satan, and you and the good doctor can't handle that. I can handle way more than you think. Despite your repeated efforts to lump all those who disagree with you into convenient catagories that you can denigate with cheap meaningless phrases (limo liberals) there are people who hold a different world view. For the record I voted for Rudi twice and Blumberg. I voted for Dole. The problem is that your snide remark did not answer Brin's claim that things got better under Clinton. Instead of responding to the arguement you go off on a tangent that is meant to distract from the discussion not add to it.. Fairly obviously, it's a little odd to claim that Rudy Giuliani's achievements, the achievements of a Republican, based on techniques that the local and national Democratic parties viciously attacked him for, don't redound to the credit of the party that supported him, elected him, and helped him implement them. Despite his being paraded at the Republican Convention you are not seriously suggesting the Rudi represents a Republican ideal? He is a republican by birth but in his polices and actions in New York he was (as all mayors must be) at least moderate if not liberal. You certainly aren't going to claim that his policies are main stream republicans? claiming that (say) the drop in the crime rate in Boston was because Janet Reno told the Boston Police Department to follow Rudy's example is like tattooing "I don't understand the basics of American government" on your forehead. So you are saying that Reno did not sugges that Boston follow the NY example did not happen and that the federal govenment has no influence over such matters? (in your colorful snide nasty way). _______________________________________________ http://www.mccmedia.com/mailman/listinfo/brin-l
