How many fundamentalists have you had long discussions with, Doug? I know many. Heck, I co-taught a bible study on Revelations with a fundamentalist. That class is still legendary at our church...almost 10 years later. :-) Of those who talk about the Second Coming being soon (the minority), none would want to start a war to bring it on. The guy who wrote in the Economist just sounds ignorant to me. Its possible that I have a non-representative sample. But, I think it is more likely that the authors who make these claims view fundamentalists from afar with scorn...without bothering to figure out what they really think.
