And while it will probably get me an earful of conservative backlash, there are may be some who consider John Kerry something of a war hero for beaching his swift boat, jumping off, capturing a VC grenade launcher or machine gun or something, and getting back on board alive. At least one of his boatmates said that it was an unprecedented act of bravery.

Actually it was a B-40 Anti-tank rocket launcher.

There was a couple great episodes of Nightline on the last few weeks; one where they went back to Vietnam and talked to the villagers that were present during Kerry's alleged action. Not only did they confirm the man Kerry killed was NOT a wounded boy (he was actually known by the villagers by name), but there was close to a platoon's strength of VC in the neighbourhood (including a weapons cache Kerry's men missed). They had that guy who wrote _Unfit for Command_ who they confronted with this evidence and he (essentially) made a fool of himself (in my eyes)...

Damon.
