Finally did a little better last week, going 10-5, 62-54 for the year.
Thanks to the NY Giants taking the Minnesota Vikings to the house for the
second straight year, the Upset Special is a very respectable 5-3.

Washington at Detroit - With late word that rookie WR Roy Williams will be
sitting this one out, I am going to hold my noise and go with the awful
Washington Redskins and see if their defence can't force Joey Harrington
into enough mistakes to win this. Pick: REDSKINS

Arizona at Miami - The Fish finally won one last week, I will try to
control my excitement. Pick: CARDINALS

Philadelphia at Pittsburgh - It is hard to imagine a rookie QB and a
mediocre defense taking down two undefeated NFL teams on consecutive weeks
at midseason. The Eagles have another 20-or-so games before they are
"due" like the Patriots. Pick: EAGLES

NY Jets at Buffalo - The Bills somehow managed to ring up 38 points in the
gusting winds last week. On paper, this game should have John Abraham
pounding Drew Bledsoe into the turf, but I just have a gut feeling about
this one that the Bills will finally win a close win instead of losing
them. I can hear the chants of "Same Old Jets" already.... Pick: BILLS

Kansas City at Tampa Bay - The Chiefs still can't seem to put it
alltogether, but I have a hard time seeing the Bucs keeping up with the
Chiefs' point-scoring abilities. Pick: CHIEFS

Dallas at Cincinnati - The wheels have fallen off the Cowboys bandwago, and
so I'll go with the bad team playing at home. Pick: BENGALS

Oakland at Carolina - The saddest thing about the Raiders' season isn't
just the record, but the fact that they've barely looked competitive in
most of their games (beating the Bills excepted.) The Panthers are beat
up, but should have enough things going for them to get the win. Pick:
PANTHERS

Chicago at NY Giants - The Giants should be able to beat the Bears even
with a letdown. Pick: GIANTS

New Orleans at San Diego - Marty Schottenheimer looks to have saved his
job..... sadly, Jim Haslett is about to lose his. Pick: CHARGERS

Seattle at San Francisco - The Seahawks may not shut them out again, but
they simply have to win this game. Pick: SEAHAWKS

New England at St. Louis - Let's start a new streak.... of losses. The
Patriots will have a hard time keeping up on the fast track in the dome.
Pick: RAMS UPSET SPECIAL

Houston at Denver - After getting shellacked on two straight weeks, I have
to give the Broncos the edge at home. Although the Texans may be the
better team, this is not the week to be going to Mile High. Pick: BRONCOS

Cleveland at Baltimore - There would be some poetic justice in the Browns
sweeping Jamal Lewis and the Ravens this year, but the defense wil be just
too much. Pick: RAVENS

Minnesota at Indianapolis - Without Randy Moss for the Vikings, the Colts
should win this track meet. Pick: COLTS
