If I taught the subject, I WOULD cover creationism. It would take twenty minutes to deal with it, and then I'd move on to evolution.
About 2 years ago during a Sunday mass, the priest (an African import with a gawd-awful accent), commented during his homily that evolution, or more accurately, the theory of, was nothing more than a farce, and we should all keep in mind that we descended from Adam & Eve. And I'm pretty sure there was something about Satan thrown in there as well...
