A rulebook didn't come with them? You should buy a "Starter Deck" then. That
is, one of the decks that mirror the decks used by the main characters such as
Yugi, Joey, Pegasus or Kaiba. In addition to the rules, you get a paper mat
the helps you place your cards in the "proper" layout.

If you like, I can scan my son's rules and the mat and e-mail them to you.
They may be a bit hard to read, as the booklet is small, but it's the best way.
After you've read them, if you want to e-mail me offlist with questions about
what things mean, I'd be happy to help you out! The rule book is ~40 pages
long, so it will take a while to explain them via e-mail, but I will detail
them in writing to you if you prefer.

Overall, though, I would suggest you get a starter deck, get the rules and the
game mat, read them, and then ask me questions. It will be faster, I think.
:-)
