(BTW - Clinton replaced 7 cabinent members after the '96 election, so I

Big difference was that Clinton's Sec. of State hadn't spent much of
the first four years losing every scrap of credibility he ever had. And
his Att. Gen. hadn't spent the same amount of time systematically
undermining what was left of the Constitution.

In fairness, I suppose that people on the Right thought similar negative
things about Clinton's cabinet.

:D

Actually it was Bill himself that was getting the brunt of the scrutiny.

I don't believe he ever had an AG that attempted anything even remotely like PATRIOT or Guantanamo, and poor Colin Powell sitting there in front of the UN and offering false assurances of WMDs ... that's something that must still taste sour in his mouth. (No Lewinsky jokes, please.)

The point being that while the right wing might well have hated Clinton's cabinet, it was strictly on philosophical grounds. We've had four years of outright lies and deliberate rights suspension; that's not theoretical nor philosophical.

ARGH! Dang it, there I go again, being a reasonable Liberal, educated to
see all sides of an issue instead of making up my own mind and sticking to
it!

Well, there's nothing wrong with looking for balance where it exists.
