A lot of the equipment they currently have is fine. I've seen M16A3s, M4A2s, M240s, and even 5.56mm miniguns, so in that dept they're doing fine... But I found it interesting on the news the other night, when a soldier pointedly asked Rummy about insufficient protection on relatively mundane vehicles (mostly trucks), he him-hawed his way through the question and sounded like an idiot....
