During a snowstorm last night, that dumped 14 inches of snow and ice on
Central Ohio, I was driving home and suddenly lightening struck a utility
pole about 100 feet from me. There was a huge thunderclap and sparks floated
down in slow motion with the snow.
I have heard thunder during snowstorms before, but I have never seen
lightening during a snowstorm, and I have never seen lightening strike
something so close in proximity..
Of course had it happened in July, I would not have thought twice about it.
But with the snow , the proximity and the small pyrotechnic show, it was
amazing.
