OK, I remember the 3 stooges part but what's the reference to purple-gray?
Maybe that's what color he was? It's been years (perhaps a decade and more!) since I've seen the movie, so I may very well be misremembering. The only 'bot I can think of that's purple was from Neon Genesis Evangelion and that...well...really wasn't a 'bot...
