They're pointers to the actual files, which IIRC are written to disc in what's called Redbook Audio format.
I need to see and move files (the music) from the CD onto my computer in
a common format which I can then easily copy onto other CDs.
Like via an MP3 disc ripper? iTunes will do that for you.
