There are no official plans coming from Bush&Co. The discussions have been about plans supported by some GOP leaders and advisers close to the administration which might be close to any plan he and Delay and Frist propose. I have seen NO plan which does not reduce benefits to at least some people who are now contributing to FICA. The plan which is believed to be closest to Bush desires is a GOP plan from the last SS advisory panel which could not agree on a plan. This has huge reductions in benefits, applies to present SS contributors, and has a $2 trillion transition cost. I could point to the amusing press conference where Bush three times refused to discuss any SS plan because reporters and the media would trick him.
