On Thursday around 10 a.m. Texas time...
Might not have too interesting for y'all (thought I'd talk Texan a little), but it brought a lump to my throat. They did a lot more than I expected. Thought it would be a quick passage of the resolution and move on.
Shortly, I'll be calling my brother-in-law to tease that now we have video of him hugging a man... which was a running joke between us for years, due to his former discomfort. That all changed three months ago in Houston.
We were invited to be there, of course, but the time and expense just weren't practical right now.
However, I am beginning to plan some sort of ceremony here, after I realized that our daughter, son-in-law and their children (who were flower girls and ring bearer and Wes and Chayla's wedding) haven't had any ritual to mark Wes' passing. The kids still ask lots of questions and tell us they want to call Wes on the phone.
