Not lately, no, we're not. We've done a hell of a lot to be ashamed of in the last couple years, and it looks like some nations, such as Iran and Syria, are worried -- justly so -- that we've got a lot more horrible deeds ahead of us.
Which I believe can only be avoided if we speak our values, steadfastly and often, without buying into language that is based on conflicting values.
