Strikes me as more of a social disease. I can think of other cultures wherein conquest of women is not so highly prized -- and where no one cares anywhere near as much about who's sleeping with whom.


We've got a quasi-mystical religious inheritance that pushes homophobia; that could be a lot of it. But you know these queer-fearing men basically learn their behavior from their fathers; it goes deeper than a little office gossip.
