Friends,
A few days ago, the American Friends Service Committee, which is the social ministry of the Quakers, asked me if I would be willing to write and/or speak as family of a fallen soldier in the Iraq war. Just writing those words makes me a bit anxious. I'm not really sure why, but talking to strangers about this subject is quite difficult. Perhaps I simply don't want to "lose it" with people I don't know.
Anyway, I've written a draft for which I'd like feedback. If you're willing, please e-mail me personally and I'll send you a copy. I will ask you to keep it confidential and destroy copies of this draft if I substantially revise it or decide not to publish it.
A special word for those who consider themselves at odds with me politically. I very much want your criticism, too. Really.
