------------------------------------------------------------------ This saddens me greatly. Though I haven't read much of her fantasy, for which she is probably best known, her early SF is wonderful. David Hartwell, in his book "Age of Wonders", describes The Golden Age of Science Fiction as 12. That being the age when young boys discover SF. I certainly did (maybe 11) and Ms. Norton's books will always have a special place in my heart. George A P.S. That statement is not discriminatory towards women.
