Cinemagoers will have more to argue about than plotlines and special effects if Sony gets its way. The company has patented a device to evoke smells, flavours and even a sense of touch in audience's brains, in the hope of enhancing the movie-watching experience.

Gee, I was just reading something about that... Oh, yeah, that's right... I read it here, in a post called "Play the Future: Sony Patents Mind Control" or some such, posted by ... Oh yeah, that's right... ME.
Timestamped less than 90 minutes before Ronn!'s post. If there are routing issues for him, then that's not necessarily unreasonable. I've seen posts take 3 hours to get somewhere, under some circumstances.
My guess is that Dave's post was indeed sent prior to mine. I sent my link to the article after reading one of the science/tech newsletters I get via e-mail every day and thinking "Hmm. Someone on Brin-L might find this interesting." which was some while before I got far enough down the queue in my in-box to find that Dave had beat me to it . . .
Apparently I Was Right That Someone Here Might Be Interested Maru
