Gautam, if you want to know what I think, I'd be grateful if you would choose to ask me, rather than telling me -- even though I often do the same thing that I'm complaining about. I'm trying to do better. I think the root of this is thinking that I'm smart in all ways, rather than a few. Also, I tend to live in a state of constant alertness, which includes trying to anticipate what's going to happen next, which serves me well in some ways, but not so much in dialog, where it leads me to assume I understand more than I do. I'm smart in some ways, but I'm quite dense in others, such as when I jump to conclusions about what other people are saying or thinking.
