I learned recently that the NCLB act has a not-at-all publicized proviso stating that children's progress reports will be kept on file at the Pentagon (parents can choose to opt out of this but they have to KNOW about it first).

This gives the term "No Child Left Behind" a very sinister possible interpretation.
