Making too many changes on an existing system in too short a period of
time can do it. Such as changing out boards and adding new software.


So IOW when you buy a new computer with that OS and start installing everything that was on the old machine onto the new one so you can get back to where you were with the old machine and can get back to work as usual, you get screwed because you've made too many changes? Sheesh . . .
