True; there's a tendency to mine the past in the block, but then, that happens elsewhere in the MTG universe. Kuro's Taken, anyone? (Restless Dead with Bushido, basically.)

There are a few neat ones among them, but he crosses up on when things should be an instant and when they should be sorceries a few times.

Ahh, timing's not everything. ;) I *think* part of the reason is to try to balance more broken effects by slowing down their speed.

The "repeat" mechanic is neat. This is one I'd love to see; the arguments alone of whether or not it's better than storm would be worth the price of admission. :)

It might depend which side of the repeat you're on. Storm is nice in that it has a kind of braking action; repeat's locked only to the extent your mana is, and with a 2-cost spell that might be a while.

Storm as a *block specific* feature's kind of cool; it could be used to rein in opponents, who might not want to give you all the casting piggyback for an instant card.

"Stall" is...OK. I think it would probably be better on big fatties for the Timmies rather than on weenies.

Yeah, that's why the stall enchantment's there. For the Angel cards the idea is to offset the relatively cheap cost of the cards given what they can do.

A 2/2 flyer for one mana is ridiculously cheap, true, and it *would* allow for a number of quick flying beats by turn three, but if it doesn't come out turn one, it's practically useless.

Not if you need a lot of creatures to sac. ;)

OTOH, his costless splice spells are decent; the black one in particular is cool. Pit's Pull could rock, and the lands that allow you to choose depletion or pain are neat, though maybe a bit powerful; I mean, Starlit Lake would allow you to play Lightning Angel on turn 2 in Extended; that's strong stuff and well worth 2 damage!

Yeah, but then, how many decks are likely to have that kind of punch? If you're running good enough tutoring to even *get* a Lightning Angle in your hand by turn 2, it seems to me that casting won't be too hard…

The goblin Spikes would make in their pants over Tar-Lan Palace, I think. :)

It took a little persuasion to put the time bomb on it. Originally it was going to be legendary but never go away, no matter how many goblins were in play. Ouchity ouch ouch.

Overall, despite any criticisms I may have made, it's not a bad effort. He managed to get a little in there for Johnny, Timmy and Spike, which is good.

It's a good effort, yeah, and in later permutations there'll surely be more balance. It's still very much an evolving project.

I believe in the heart of the cards Maru

You can if you want to. For me, I'll stay with my Darksteel Pendants. And away from Yu-Gi-Oh.
