Folks, It is, and how.
This morning, Peggy's crew was dispatched to a house near Vancleave to do some recovery work, which to date has consisted mainly of prying up waterlogged flooring, tearing out soaked drywall, pulling off moldy moulding and so forth. The house was among the worse she'd seen, but the residents were still living there among the mold and decay, with no way to get out: their car is flooded. There was no way for them to gut the house while they were still living there, so they were redirected to another house. There, they met an 83-year-old woman whose house they were able to work on. Her son and grandson had come out from Florida to help out. They were making plans to head home when the woman's husband died from the stress of the hurricane and aftermath. They stayed for the funeral, but a road accident that left the grandson brain dead and the son in intensive care, unaware of his son's condition. It's a shitty situation down there, not all of it the result of political cronyism and opportunists.
